Building a United Platform for a Divided Nation

The United Independent Movement is about more than independents winning to break two-party control—it’s about creating a shared vision for how we can govern effectively going forward

Empowering Independents.

Driving Real Solutions. Transforming Governance.

The United Independent Movement exists to break the grip of partisan politics and return power to the people. But to do that, we need more than shared frustration—we need shared direction.

The United Independent Platform is a strategic framework for systemic transformation, centered on the one issue that unites independents across the spectrum: governance reform.

The United Independent Platform is a strategic framework for systemic transformation, centered on the one issue that unites independents across the spectrum: governance reform.

Why a Platform for Independents?

Over half of Americans now identify as independent, yet the movement has been fragmented. Without a shared platform, Independents lacked the clarity, coordination, and cohesion to win elections, pass reforms, or build long-term power.

By uniting around a governance-focused platform, we can now:

• Clarify our common ground and build bridges across ideological lines.

• Coordinate campaigns and advocacy efforts around shared goals.

• Establish a new political identity rooted in transparency, accountability, and citizen leadership.

Governance as Common Ground

Social and economic issues have been used as a tool to divide us—but governance reform brings us together.

No matter our background, most Americans agree: the system is rigged, those in power serve themselves—and it’s time for change.

That’s why our platform focuses on fixing the root problem:

Corruption and dysfunction in how our government operates.

Our Focus

1. Independent Leadership

We champion leaders who are free from party control and corporate influence—candidates and officeholders who serve people, not donors.

Our platform calls for:

• A Corruption-Free Candidate Standard—rejecting corporate PAC money, disclosing finances and conflicts, and pledging to ban self-enrichment.

• Term Limits for Congress—12 years max per chamber to end political careerism.

• Revolving Door Reforms—5-year bans on corporate lobbyists entering public office and vice versa.

• No stock trading or board seats for sitting members of Congress or senior officials.

Independents demand more than ending duopoly control—we need a new standard of leadership.

2. Governance Innovation & Technology

Modern government is still running on outdated systems. We need a 21st-century upgrade—focused on transparency, security, and real-time participation.

We stand for:

• Secure, auditable elections using immutable, modernized infrastructure.

• Online legislative transparency—all bills posted publicly before any vote.

• Open-source civic tech for budgeting, public engagement, and digital accountability.

• Citizen assemblies empowering real citizen-driven legislative power.

• Algorithm transparency & speech protections to preserve free expression in digital spaces.

Innovation must serve citizen-led governance—not manipulate or exclude it.

3. Core Policy Priorities for Governance Reform

These foundational reforms anchor the platform and form the basis for candidate alignment and legislative action:

• Ban Corporate Lobbying & Dark Money: End the influence of super PACs, corporate lobbying, and industry capture of public agencies.

• Campaign Finance Overhaul: Support public election funding, small-donor matching systems, and a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United.

• Anti-Corruption Enforcement: Establish an independent watchdog agency with full subpoena power. Protect whistleblowers and implement a federal ethics code for all branches of government.

• Direct Democracy Tools: Introduce national referendum power and citizen assemblies to give the public a greater voice in lawmaking and oversight.

This platform is not theoretical—it’s designed to be implemented by candidates who commit, voters who demand it, and citizens who build it together.

A Living Platform for a Growing Movement

This is more than a wishlist—it’s a blueprint for action. It will continue to evolve through dialogue, debate, and collective participation across the independent movement.

But one thing will remain constant:We are united by our commitment to end corruption and rebuild a government that works—for all of us.
