United Independents - Forum Cultural Alignment

Welcome to the United Independents Forum! These principles and guidelines are designed to ensure that our forum remains productive, respectful, and effective in achieving its purpose of developing the United Independent Movement. By participating, you agree to uphold these standards and foster a positive environment for all members.

Key Principles of Alignment

1. Commitment to Independent Leadership

Electing leaders who act according to their conscience, free from inappropriate partisan, corporate, or special interests.

2. Principle of Better Governance

Improving governance through transparency, accountability, fairness, and empowering citizens to participate in shaping policies and systems.

3. Commitment to Common Ground

Recognizing our shared purpose to improve leadership and governance in the United States, despite individual differences.

4. Dedication to Systemic Change

Addressing systemic roots of societal challenges to transform norms and foster healthier communities, economies, and ecosystems.

Our Key Principles of Behavior

1. Commitment to Non-Violence

Pursuing our mission through peaceful, respectful, and constructive means.

2. Productivity and Solutions

Prioritizing actionable, practical solutions and fostering open communication to advance goals.

3. Ability to Integrate Diverse Perspectives

Engaging with curiosity and integrating diverse perspectives to produce new insights rather than degenerative debate.

4. Unification and Maturity

Fostering respectful interactions across political backgrounds and avoiding divisive, judgmental, or hateful behaviors.

Community Forum Standards

1. Stay on Topic

The purpose of this group is to advance the development and success of the United Independent Movement in electing Independent Americans Citizens to steward our public institutions and end the control of the two-party system. Post and contributions to the group should emerge from the spirit of progressing that goal.

2. Clarity and Concision

Be thoughtful about how you communicate. Write clear, concise messages to make it easier for others to engage with your ideas. Avoid long-winded posts unless necessary to communicate complex, nuanced points; if your message requires length, consider using bullet points or summaries.

3. Share Link Resources Thoughtfully

If you share a link, document, or other resource:

Provide context:

• Explain why it’s relevant to the group’s focus.

• If there is a key point in an article or video, consider sharing a specific section or time-stamp reference in your comment.

• Offer key takeaways: Summarize the resource so others can quickly understand its importance.

4. Confidentiality and Trust

Respect the privacy of the group. Do not share screenshots, copy-paste content, or discuss what others post in the group without their explicit consent. Assume a default expectation of confidentiality to foster open and honest discussions. If you want others to see what is happening in the group, invite them to join the U.I. Leadership Forum to gain access themselves. .

5. Respectful Communication

Uphold the principles of civic dialogue: Listen, be curious, and engage constructively. Avoid divisive or dismissive language, personal attacks, or inflammatory statements. Disagree respectfully by focusing on ideas, not individuals.

6. Avoid Spam or Excessive Messaging

Refrain from sending unnecessary or repetitive messages. Quality contributions are far more valuable than quantity. Use direct messages for personal or side conversations unrelated to the group’s purpose.

7. No Inappropriate Self-Promotion

This is not a space for general personal promotion or marketing. Share ideas and resources that benefit the group rather than advancing personal agendas unless the specific self-promotion is fully aligned with the purpose of the group.

8. Action-Oriented Contributions

Whenever possible, frame your messages around solutions, actionable ideas, or constructive suggestions that move the group forward, rather than simply ‘harping on a problem.’

9. Uphold the Group’s Cultural Standards

All interactions should reflect the values outlined in our cultural standards, including commitments to non-violence, unity, better governance, and systemic change. Let these principles guide your behavior and contributions.

10. Moderation and Accountability

Be receptive to feedback if a moderator or group member raises concerns about a post or your behavior in the forum. Posts that violate these guidelines may be removed, and members who repeatedly disregard the rules may be removed from the group.

Thank you for your commitment to making this forum a space for meaningful collaboration and progress. Let’s work together to build a stronger, more unified independent movement!
